Our Treatment Approach
At CNC, we believe that evidence-based therapy is central to the successful treatment of youth with mood, anxiety, and behavior difficulties. Although plans are individually developed to meet the needs of each child and family, all treatments used at CNC are supported by research. These therapies are typically short-term interventions that provide education and teach strategies to improve functioning. Strategies may include identifying and challenging faulty thinking, learning distress tolerance, and implementing behavioral plans. These interventions require active participation from children and parents.
The therapy process at CNC typically includes:
- Parent intake
- Child/Adolescent/Young Adult intake
- Collaboration and consultation with other providers and/or school personnel
- Development of a treatment plan
- 50-minute weekly therapy sessions with the child and/or parent
